Hannah Tabeling

I am Hannah Tabeling and I am 16 years old. I am a teen with PCOS. My journey started when I was 12 years old. I had struggled with menstrual cycles, weight gain, acne, acanthosis nigricans, anxiety and self esteem. I was so unhappy with myself and had no idea what was wrong with me. Finally at 13 I was diagnosed with PCOS. Determined to improve my symptoms, I changed my diet, took vitamins and went to weight loss camp. I had finally gotten my symptoms pretty well under control by 15 years old. I finally decided  I wanted to try and help girls like me who struggle with PCOS. Lucky for me, my mother also has PCOS and she has been an advocate for 17 years. I started to work with her on her accounts and helped her edit videos and put events together. Finally at age 16 This September I had the opportunity to go to Washington D.C.  and to meet many amazing people who work with PCOS challenge and go to congress to help get house resolution 495 passed into a bill. I told my story, and it felt good to meet and talk to women who went through what I did as a teen. I wanted girls and teens to be able to have that same opportunity so, I created PCOS teen pages throughout social media to help inform, give advice and connect with girls and teens who have PCOS. I want to spread more awareness and help as many girls as possible. Let's overcome PCOS together!

TinaMarie

Am I the only one who said P C Oh What?!?!  Like many other Cysters, when I was diagnosed, I felt alone and scared.  I had no idea what Polycystic Ovary Syndrome meant for my life, nor did I truly understand what it would do to my body.  I reached out to doctors, family, friends and the internet.  I still was unable to find someone like me.  Someone, who was still in their battle and someone, who knew how alone and scared I felt.  Unfortunately, no matter how much I searched, I never found this and allowed myself to live with those horrible PCOS symptoms.

Fast forward ten years!  I finally woke up and said no more!  No more why me, no more hurting daily and no more shaming myself.  I dug deep within myself to find the courage needed and gained a proper support system.  I taught myself how to be my own advocate.  I started researching everything polycystic ovary syndrome and I sought out knowledgeable doctors and supportive advisors.   It was now that I was able to start healing my own body.

This process took time to learn what works and what doesn’t work.  In the end, it has all been worth it as my symptoms have now reversed.  I am no longer suffering from daily PCOS symptoms.  My hormones are balanced and my health is back. I am now certified and in nutrition I continue follow my own PCOS Healthy Lifestyle Plan full of vitamins, supplements and proper nutrition suited to keep all PCOS symptoms at bay.

I urge you to allow us to teach you how to be the one in control!  Allow us to teach you how to be your own advocate.  Follow our blogs weekly as we will start back at the beginning and break down all things PCOS.  You will not find all those doctor terms or scientific descriptions no one understands.  We will not fill you with information and then leave out how it has helped us or how we suggest it can help others.  Our philosophy is that we need to be on the same team.  Together we can beat PCOS, together we can end our pain, and together we can all feel amazing everyday of our lives!  If you have any questions, kindly complete the contact me form.  With much love and support - TinaMarie
